THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The Senior Product Manager, Vendor Quality Platform will build the technology that orchestrates every quality touchpoint across our vendor and supply chain lifecycle:
- Multi-sided quality platform for vendors, 3P inspectors, and labs
- Risk matrix driving auto-gated audits, inline/DUPRO, final inspections, and lab tests
- QC deployment logic at vendor/factory level with smart booking & dispatch
- Quality data lake & scorecards that tie to chargebacks, returns, and CSAT
- AI/computer vision to detect defects and production issues early
- Tight integrations with PLM/ERP/WMS/TMS, Sourcing, Logistics, and Merchandising
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategy & Vision: Define a 12–24 month roadmap for the Quality Platform (inspections, labs, scorecards, AI)
- Establish risk tiers, AQL/sampling standards, and compliance gates baked into workflows
- Make “build vs. buy” decisions across inspection/lab providers and platform components
- Execution & Operational Excellence:
- Ship v1 of automated QC booking & dispatch and risk-based inspection gating in first 6 months
- Launch vendor/factory quality scorecards with workflows and SLA tracking.
- Deliver stable integrations to at least one 3P inspection/lab network and our PLM/ERP
- Drive platform SLOs (availability, latency) and auditability across all decisions
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Sourcing/Production/Logistics/Merch to align pre-PO checks and pre-ship holds with quality gates
- Work with QA/QC Ops to codify procedures into productized playbooks
- Coordinate with Legal/Compliance for regulatory testing, documentation, and record retention
- Enable Data/ML to operationalize computer-vision and anomaly detection
- Metrics Ownership:
- Final-inspection Right-First-Time (RFT); defect rates (critical/major/minor) at AQL
- Inspection & lab lead time, retest rate, and on-time ship adherence.
- Compliance pass rate; % shipments auto-approved by rules
- Return/defect-related CSAT lift; Cost of Quality (prevention/appraisal/failure) reduction
- Vendor Quality Score improvement
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5–7+ years total experience; 3+ in product management building internal platforms or supply-chain/operations products
- Proven launches of workflow/API products used by external partners (vendors, 3Ps) and internal operators
- Technical fluency (APIs, data pipelines, event models); ability to translate standards into system rules
- Data-driven; comfortable with SQL and experimentation to validate gating logic and thresholds
- Excellent communicator across executive, business, factory, and engineering audiences
PREFERRED:
- Supplier-quality or private-brand apparel/consumer goods experience
- Familiarity with inspection/lab networks (e.g., Intertek, SGS, BV, QIMA) and PLM/ERP (e.g., TradeBeyond/CBX)
- Experience with computer vision for defect detection or production monitoring
- Background designing workflows, vendor incentives, and scorecards
- Time in both high-growth startups and scaled, global supply chains
All posted ranges are reflective of base salary and may vary depending upon experience level and location. Bonus and equity may also be provided for eligible roles.
